Saudi Arabia announces arrest of individuals who received weapons and explosive training in Iran

RIYADH — On Monday, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported the arrest of 10 suspected members of an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-linked terrorist cell.

Quoting the Head of State Security in Saudi Arabia, the Agency reported that competent authorities managed to arrest 10 people accused of belonging to a “terrorist cell” whose members received training directly from the IRGC in Iran in 2017.

A spokesperson for the State Security apparatus did not reveal the identities of those arrested but stated that security forces found quantities of weapons and explosives hidden in a farm house used by the cell which included explosives, detonators, quantities of gunpowder, machine guns, sniper weapons, pistols, quantities of ammunition, military clothing, and other tactical equipment.
