NW SYRIA-IDLIB: Killings and extortions continue in the areas of the Tahrir al-Sham
Killings are increasing day by day in areas controlled by the terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham. In a latest incident, the body of an unidentified man was found between the city of Idlib and al-Mastuma town.
IDLIB, Syria – Against the backdrop of escalating insecurity and targeted assassinations against civilians and military personnel within the areas under control of terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham, residents near Idlib city found the body of an unidentified man lying on the road between the city and the town of al-Mastuma.
In a related context, Tahrir al-Sham armed forces raided a house in Kafr Takharem town in the northwestern countryside of Idlib and shot a citizen while trying to arrest him. The man died from the shots. Two others were injured.
These crimes and human rights violations by Tahrir al-Sham come at the same time as the demand by the group’s so-called “rescue government” demanded through its so-called Office for Displaced Persons, that the director of al-Der camp in Idlib sign new contracts with IDPs, renew leases with the new residents, and pay 50 Turkish liras for each 100-meter tent. The demands were rejected by camp residents.
Tahrir al-Sham continues to tighten its brutal grip on citizens and pursue them in their livelihoods by raising prices in its control areas. Sources told the Syrian Observatory that Tahrir al-Sham also inspects vehicle tanks and confiscates gasoline. It prevents the entry of vegetables and fruit brought from areas controlled by Turkish-backed armed groups to its areas.
Tahrir al-Sham or “Levant Liberation Committee” is the former terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra.
