SYRIA: Iranian militias kill nearly a dozen shepherds outside Hama
HAMA, Syria — A new massacre perpetrated by Iranian militants against civilians in the Syrian desert (Badia) near Hama has reportedly occurred.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Iranian-backed militias based in the Al-Faseda area southeast of Al-Saan opened fire on a group of shepherds, killing at least nine and injuring seven others. Some of those injured remain in serious condition.
The Badia has witnessed similar massacres committed by Syrian regime militias and the Islamic State against civilians in the past.
On 16 July, SOHR reported that four shepherds were killed by unknown gunmen who stole their sheep and set fire to agricultural crops in the Badia area of Al-Ghanim al-Ali, which is under control of regime forces.
