Beth Nahrin National Council organizations congratulate Khabat Suleiman on appointment as Co-Chair of Hasakah Canton
HASAKAH, Syria — After the appointment of Mr. Khabat Suleiman (Democratic Union Party, PYD) as new Co-Chair of Hasakah Canton in the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria on Wednesday, a delegation from political, social, and cultural organizations affiliated with the Beth Nahrin National Council (MUB) visited the cantonal headquarters in Hasakah city to offer congratulations.
Besides extending congratulations to Mr. Suleiman and wishing him success in his new position, the two sides exchanged views and discussed difficulties in providing high-level social and cultural public services and infrastructure under the complex situation in the DAA, all aggravated by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The discussions focused particularly on the situation of the Syriac–Assyrian people but covered all peoples of the region.
The delegation included representatives of the Syriac Union Party (SUP), the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro), the Women’s Sutoro, the Syriac Military Council (MFS), the Syriac Youth Union, the Abdelmasih Qarabashi House of Culture and Art, and the Olaf Taw Association.
