Syriac Military Council commemorates 1st anniversary of Khabur martyrs and 3rd anniversary of Raqqa liberation
TEL TAMER, Syria — On the 1st anniversary of the invasion of Turkey and its Syrian National Army proxies of North and East Syria and the 3rd anniversary of the liberation of Raqqa from the Islamic State (ISIS), spokesperson for the Syriac Military Council Aram Hanna recalled the heroism and sacrifices of the organizations martyrs.
“Today, we commemorate the 1st anniversary of the Khabur martyrdoms, who with their bodies illuminated our path and defended our holy land,” said Hanna. “They were martyred for the love and preservation of their land,” Hanna stated. “With their martyrdom, our Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people are honored and proud.”
Hanna emphasized that the martyrs had motivated and encouraged the rest of our people to defend their land and rights, stressing that the threat posed by ISIS and Turkish-proxies still exists, but the Syriac Military Council’s fighters are ready to confront any potential threat of terrorism.
On behalf of the Syriac Military Council Command, Hanna offered the warmest congratulations upon the anniversary of the liberation of Raqqa and their deepest condolences to the families of martyrs.
