SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi meets with multi-ethnic multi-religious delegation of peoples from Gozarto Region in North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On Wednesday, General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi met with a delegation of notable personalities from civil society and local organizations from the Gozarto (Jazira) Region in North and East Syria. The delegation included representatives of all social groups and political figures from the Syriac (Chaldean–Aramean–Assyrian), Arab, Kurdish, and Yezidi peoples.
During the visit, Abdi reviewed the political and military developments in North and East Syria in recent months, including the ongoing efforts of the Islamic State and Syrian regime to destabilize Raqqa and Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) and the increased attacks by Turkey and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army around occupied Tel Abyad and Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn).
The personalities of the visiting delegation expressed their opinions for ways to develop the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in confronting the existing challenges. They also discussed the necessity of joining efforts to overcome the challenges and preserve civil peace.
