RAQQA, Syria — On Sunday, General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi met with a delegation from Raqqa Civil Council (RCC) in Hasakah city in North and East Syria. The two sides discussed the latest service and civil developments in the city.
The Raqqa Civil Council delegation included the RCC Co-Chairship and representatives and officials in the RCC directorate.
The delegation presented a stone monument of the archaeological wall of Raqqa to Abdi.
“This gift expresses our gratitude to the SDF for liberating our city from the Islamic State (ISIS),” Muhammad Nour, RCC Co-Chair stated in a speech to the media before the meeting.
Abdi, in turn, thanked the RCC delegation, as well as the city’s residents for their support for the SDF and the Internal Security Forces (ISF).
He also stressed the need to work to improve the provision of services and the economic situation for citizens. The restoration of the city’s infrastructure, destroyed during the war against ISIS, is paramount in ensuring the city’s recovery, said Abdi.
