US Elections updated: Syrian Chaldean Eric Esshaki and Syrian Assyrian Sargis Sangari (R) lose Congressional elections
MICHIGAN / ILLINOIS – Syriac Chaldean Eric Esshaki of Birmingham lost the Congressional elections in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District to leading incumbent U.S. Dem. Representative Haley Stevens. With 97% of votes counted, Eric Esshaki (39) lost with 47.8% to 50.2%. Haley Stevens is up for her second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Syriac Assyrian Sargis Sangari (51) of Skokie, Illinois, is lost to U.S. Dem. Representative Jan Schakowsky in Illinois’ 9th Congressional District. Jan Schakowsky is up for her twelfth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
