University of Baghdad Language Faculty awards first master’s degree in Syriac Studies
BAGHDAD – In a primer, the Syriac Language Department of the University of Baghdad has awarded its first master’s degree. Student Amal Adi Boulos graduated with a thesis on the linguistic features of Syriac legal terms in manuscripts of Personal Status Law by Isho Barnun (7th century).
The Syriac Study Department is part of the Faculty of languages at the University of Baghdad. Syriac is a recognized language in Iraq.
