University of Baghdad Language Faculty awards first master’s degree in Syriac Studies

BAGHDAD – In a primer, the Syriac Language Department of the University of Baghdad has awarded its first master’s degree. Student Amal Adi Boulos graduated with a thesis on the linguistic features of Syriac legal terms in manuscripts of Personal Status Law by Isho Barnun (7^th century).

The Syriac Study Department is part of the Faculty of languages at the University of Baghdad. Syriac is a recognized language in Iraq.
