Mobile medical teams to treat people with coronavirus in Kurdistan Region of Iraq in their homes

SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq — The Directorate of Public Health in Sulaymaniyah province in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) announced on Sunday the launch of a service to treat people infected with COVID-19 in their homes.

The project is sponsored by FastLink Communications according to Sulaymaniyah Health Director Dr. Sabah Hawrami.

Dr. Hawrami said at a joint press conference with representatives of the company that eight medical teams will begin their activities this coming Sunday, saying they will able to visit 80 COVID-19 patients who are already receiving treatment at home.

Dr. Hawrami noted that the medical teams will provide extensive services to COVID-19 patients being treated in their homes in Sulaymaniyah, as well as in the Karmian, Halabja, and Rabrin.

Dr. Hawrami expressed the hope that people would abide by public health instructions and preventive measures to avoid contracting the virus.
