North and East Syria: International Coalition reinforces its forces in Koniko
DAYRO ZCURO (DEIR EZ-ZOR) – Leaders from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) met with representatives from the International Coalition to discuss ways to improve the security and service situation and to upgrade infrastructure and basic service in Dayro Zcuro (Deir Ez-Zor) in general. The meeting dealt with the security file in the region and ways to ensure the security and safety of citizens, protect the regions’ and the people’s gains, and the necessity of coordination between the SDF, the internal security forces and the International Coalition, in a way that reflects positively on the security situation.
The representatives of the International Coalition expressed their satisfaction with the relentless efforts made by the SDF and the Internal Security Forces to establish security throughout Deir Ezzor. They addressed the continued logistical and military support of the International Coalition for the SDF, in order to help it continue its efforts to eliminate terrorist organizations, bring security in all regions, and improve the basic services situation.
The meeting coincides with the dispatch by the international coalition forces of a Coalition military convoy of weapons and logistics to their base in the Koniko oil field, northeast of Dayro Zcuro (Deir Ez-Zor).
In the same context, the SDF, with the support of the International Coalition, carried out an operation that resulted in the arrest of 5 terrorists in the Harjah and Ezbo districts in the Dayro Zcuro countryside. Weapons and technical equipment were confiscated.
Violent explosions were heard in the countryside of al-Bukamal city in the countryside of Dayro Zcuro. They are the likely result of air strikes by unknown aircraft targeting sites of Iranian militias west of al-Bukamal. According to the sources of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the explosions were caused by a missile targeting the sites of these militias in the Sikka area on the outskirts of al-Bukamal, which led to the killing of 6 pro-Iranian militia members and the destruction of vehicles.
