NORTH AND EAST SYRIA: large International Coalition convoy enters Syrian territory through al-Walid border crossing
ZALIN (QAMISHLI), Syria – In order to continue support to Coalition forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the International Coalition brought in a convoy of 35 trucks with military equipment and fuel into North and East Syria. The military convoy crossed from the Kurdish Region in Iraq through al-Walid border crossing and passed through the city of Zalin (Qamishli) .
According to Russia Today news channel on Saturday, the trucks included military vehicles, cars, and bulldozers, as well as fuel tanks, logistics and a number of closed trucks. The convoy is supposed to complete its route to U.S. bases in Hasakah countryside.
The convoy’s entry into northeastern Syria is a confirmation of previous statements of some Coalition leaders recommitting support for the SDF in its fight against terrorist organizations, as well as refuting reports that the Coalition is reducing the number of its forces in the region.
