BREAKING: Failed hijacking attempt on Syriac Izla Tours passenger bus, reports of heavy shooting and several injured
A passenger tour bus operated by Syriac company Izla Tours was fired on tonight with automatic weapons after an attempted hijacking during a trip from Hassaka to Daramsuq (Damascus).
Assailants tried to stop the bus in the vicinity of Tabqa. After the bus driver tried avoid the assailants by maneuvering with high speed, the assailants fired on the bus with automatic weapons.
The group of assailants trying to hijack the Izla Tours passenger bus is unknown.
Initial reports indicate several passengers injured and possibly killed. The victims have been transferred to Salamiyah Hospital, the nearest hospital to the location of incident on the Tabqa road in Syrian regime controlled area.
