SDF repels attack and kills Turkish-backed mercenaries after infiltration attempt into Ayn Issa countryside
AYN ISSA, Syria – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria have thwarted a new Turkish-backed infiltration attempt into the countryside of Ayn Issa and the SDF frontline in the village of Mazraa near the important M4 highway. After fierce confrontations between the SDF and Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) militants-cum-mercenaries, several SNA fighters were killed and wounded after which the militants withdrew.
The Turkish occupation army and its Syrian National Army have intensified recently, their shelling of Ayn Issa and environs, and the strategic M4 highway. Turkey and its SNA factions, some embrace ideologies, have continually violated the ceasefire agreement signed between it and the U.S. and Russia.
In related news, on Friday, the SDF announced it had arrested three Islamic State terrorists: Ziad Subhi al-Amin (Abu al-Qa’qaa al-Qurashi), Muhammad Mohsen al-Sattam (al-Atrash), and Faris Mousa al-Salbi), during security operation in the towns of al-Tayyana and al-Shuhail in the eastern countryside of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor).
The fight against Daesh continues to root out Daesh cells and networks to maintain peace and security in liberated areas in NE Syria. The SDF is instrumental in the #defeatDaesh mission and the @CJTFOIR is committed to partnering with them. https://t.co/gHTSB2UjOK
