NORTH AND EAST SYRIA: Syriac Women Union and SUP women leaders meet at Syriac Union Party office in Qabre Hewore

QABRE HEWORE (al-QAHTANIYAH), Syria – The women’s leadership of the Syriac Women’s Union and Syriac Union Party held a joint meeting at the headquarters of the Syriac Union Party, Qabre Hewore branch, last Friday.

The meeting began with a moment of silence in remembrance of fallen comrades and martyrs, followed by a word of welcome from representatives of the two branches and an analysis on the current political situation by Syriac Women’s Union representative Faya Ardish.

Topic of the meeting was women’s organizational and social development and how to organize and educate women to be full members of society in all aspects. The role of women and their effective role in the work force, administration, and management of institutions as well as the obstacles they face on the work floor were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the program for meetings and visits in the coming month was drawn up, as well as assigning responsibilities to help the women facing practical problems in the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration.
