Forty-two ISIS fighters killed in operation by Iraqi forces
MOSUL, Iraq — Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces Major General Yahya Rasoul announced that Iraqi forces had killed 42 members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in a military operation in the north of the country.
Rasuol stated that counter-terror forces stormed ISIS locations in the Ayn al-Jahsh area, south of Mosul city, following two days of continuous confrontations.
“The ISIS wali of the Tigris Region, known as Baraa, and several ISIS leaders, were among those killed in the fighting,” he added.
Rasuol indicated that the operation took place with the support of International Coalition air cover.
