Syriac Orthodox Church in North and East Syria celebrates elevation of Father Aho Ibrahim to priesthood

ZALIN, Syria — On Friday, the Syriac Orthodox Church celebrated the appointment of the evangelical seminary deacon Aho Ibrahim in the Church of St. Jacob in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria in the presence of parishioners, a delegation from the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria, and a number of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) party and institutional representatives.

At the end of the ceremony, Father Aho Ibrahim thanked His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and the East of the Syriac Orthodox, through a message delivered on SuroyoTV for giving him this blessing. Father Ibrahim also thanked Archbishop Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of the Diocese of Gozarto (Jazira) and the Euphrates and asked God to bless the good and well-being of the Syriac people, and to give him the strength to serve his parish.

Archbishop Mor Maurice Amsih expressed his happiness at the appointment of Father Ibrahim and prayed to The Lord to inspire him and strengthen him to be a servant and shepherd of the parish.
