Amina Omar: Turkey’s escalation in Ayn Issa aims to see Syrian regime replace Autonomous Administration

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In an interview with SuroyoTV, Co-Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Amina Omar stated that the situation in the town of Ayn Issa and nearby villages is tension as Turkish and Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) forces continue their attacks.

Omar pointed out that only the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) defend the town, saying that Russia is still silent about the Turkish attacks because it wants to expand the areas of influence of the regime forces and thus the regime’s control over those areas. Russia’s silence is to pressure the SDF to hand over the town and its nearby areas to regime forces, claimed Omar.
