Syrian Democratic Council launches campaign against corruption in the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) on its official website announced the launching of a campaign “to combat administrative and economic corruption” in the regions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria. The SDC press release stated that “investigations began with a number of officials and those accused because of corruption cases of the public and private sectors.”

The SDC announced that more than a 100 people are under investigation on charges of corruption, abuse of influence and manipulation of public funds. Those against whom a strong case of corruption can be made will be transferred to special courts.

The anti-corruption campaign is executed at all administrative levels and will expand in the coming period to achieve the appropriate deterrence “that the careless and corrupt people have no position in the public authorities and all the institutions of Autonomous Administration.”
