AFGHANISTAN: Kabul University attack perpetrator sentenced to death
KABUL — An Afghan court sentenced the perpetrator of the terrorist attack on Kabul University to death after he admitted receiving instructions and weapons from the Taliban’s Haqqani terrorist network.
The perpetrator, known as Adel, admitted to participating in the 2 November attack on Kabul University’s Law College which killed 22 people and left 27 others wounded.
The attack coincided with the opening of a book fair by Afghan and Iranian representatives.
Two weeks after the attack, Afghan police were able to arrest Adel, who had studied Islamic law at the university for three years. He was later recruited by the Taliban-linked Haqqani network.
