Lebanese musician and composer Elias Rahbani passes away at 83 due to COVID-19
BEIRUT — According to Lebanese media, respected musician and conductor Elias Rahbani passed away on Monday at the age of 83 due to COVID-19.
Rahbani was born in the city of Antelias in 1938 in Mount Lebanon and was the younger brother of the late Assi and Mansour Rahbani.
Elias Rahbani was a musician, composer, songwriter, and orchestra conductor. He composed more than 2,500 songs and pieces of music, 2,000 of which were in Arabic, in addition to 1,000 soundtracks for 25 films and TV series.
He also composed and wrote songs for a large number of Lebanese artists, including Lebanese musical icon Fairuz.
