Syriac Military Council responds to Turkish attacks on Dardara village outside Tel Tamr in North and East Syria

TEL TAMR, Syria — Turkey and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) continue their attacks on the cities and villages of North and East Syria, especially on the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) region of Tel Tamr.

According to sources in the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) stationed on the frontline north of Tel Tamr, Turkish forces have been shelling Dardara village since Tuesday evening forcing civilians to flee to the neighboring villages.

The source added that MFS quickly responded to the attack and succeeded in stopping the SNA from advancing in the area.

The Turkish bombing extended to the road between Abu Rasayn (Zarkan) and Timar (Umm al-Keif). No casualties were reported.

A Russian base in the region was also targeted with artillery and mortar shells, with Russian aircraft hovering overhead in response.

Electricity towers outside Tel Tamr were damaged in the bombardment and electricity to the area was cutoff as a result.

The MFS took upon themselves to protect those areas and achieved great success in repelling Turkish attacks since the beginning of the Turkish invasion of North and East Syria in October 2019.
