Syriac Women’s Union visits Syriac households to speak with women about their rights and the role of the Union

ZALIN and HASAKAH, Syria — With the aim of strengthening relations between the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) and the general population of Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans), officials and members of the SWU’s Zalin (Qamishli) and Hasakah branches made several visits to Syriac households.

During the visits, the delegation extended Christmas and New Year congratulations and spoke with women and girls about the importance of communication and camaraderie between women.

The delegations also spoke about the role SWU plays in guaranteeing the rights of Syriac women in public forums, the issues facing women in their everyday lives, and the ways in which SWU can provide moral and material support to women in need.

The SWU periodical conducts community visits to maintain their familiarity with the problems facing Syriac women.
