SYRIA: Iranian militias and Hezbollah using economic crisis to recruit youth of Dayro Zcuro
DAYRO ZCURO, Syria —As the security situation and living conditions in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) east of the Euphrates River, which is controlled by the Syrian regime, its militias, and Iranian militias.
Taking advantage of the poor economic situation, Hezbollah has reportedly begun recruiting from the local population at its headquarters in the Harabish neighborhood which it shares with the Syrian regime-affiliated National Defense Militia (NDF).
Each new recruit will reportedly receive a monthly salary of $150 USD, a large sum for the youth of those areas due to the Syria’s economic crisis.
