HASAKAH, Syria — As a part of a series of events aimed at engaging Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) youth in politics and history, the Syriac Progressive Youth Union in Hasakah recently held a workshop entitled “The Role of Youth in the Rise of Syriac–Assyrian Society” at the Headquarters of the Syriac Cultural Association in the city’s Nazareth district.
The workshop was attended by members of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) youth from Hasakah. During the workshop, participants were divided into three groups, each of which discussed a challenge faced by the region’s youth: child abuse, drug addiction, and the negative effects of mobile phones.
At the end of the workshop, each set of findings and proposals was presented and discussed by all participants.
The activities held by the Syriac Progressive Youth Union are aimed at educating young people about the important role they play in building an open and developed society.
