Israeli Secretary of Defense Gantz threatens overwhelming response to any Hezbollah attacks
TEL AVIV — In response to recent statements made by Secretary-General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said he had completed an assessment of the status of the Galilee Division (91st Division) responsible for guarding the most sensitive border areas.
Gantz added that if Nasrallah’s threats turn into actions, the result will be painful for the party and its leaders, and unfortunately, for the citizens of Lebanon as well because Hezbollah uses them as human shields.
Gantz also stressed that Israel is continuing to strengthen front-line towns and has prioritized the fortification of northern Israel.
Israel has already announced its intention to target Iranian military personnel and positions in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
