Delegation from Legislative Council of North and East Syria’s Gozarto Region visits Syriac Union Party in Zalin

ZALIN, Syria — On Thursday, the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria received a delegation from the Legislative Council of Gozarto (Jazira) Region.

The visiting delegation included the Co-Chair of the Council Arya Mala Ahmed, member of the Board Ilham Matly Abdul Rahman Hassan, Co-Chair of the Executive Council Talat Younis, and Gozarto Region’s General Adviser for the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) Jehan Khalil.

The visiting delegation was greeted by Nazira Goreya and Sanharib Barsoum, the recently elected Co-Chairs of the SUP, Noura Hanna, Co-Chair of SUP’s Zalin branch, and Party Council members Gabriel Chamoun and Mousa Hanna.

During the meeting, the visiting delegation extended its congratulations to the Goreya and Barsoum on their election and congratulated the SUP on its successfully organizing its third general conference.

Several points were discussed between the delegations regarding the effectiveness and participation of SUP members within the committees of the Legislative Council and the evaluation of the work of the Council.

Political developments in Syria in general and North and East Syria in particular were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the visiting delegation wished success to the Syriac Union Party in all its work and decisions.
