NINEVEH PLAIN: Beth Nahrain Organization for Women in Iraq celebrates Teacher’s Day

BAGHDEDE, NINEVEH PLAIN – The Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) celebrated March 1 Teacher’s Day, which is celebrated nationally in Iraq on March 1. The festive gathering was attended by Mrs. Hanan Matti Touma, head of BNOW, branch official Ronak Elias, and BNOW health official Mrs. Anwar Hadi.

Hadi delivered a speech saying; “Teaching is the most difficult but most important profession. Teaching requires physical and mental labor. It teaches us that humans are the most important in advancing knowledge and civilization. The teacher is a role model and a fighter in the field of upbringing and education.”

At the end of the celebration, humanitarian aid was handed out which was provided by the SyriacCross Organization for Relief and Development and Polish non-profit Orla Straż (Eaglewatch) were distributed to the organization’s members. The Beth Nahrain Organization for Women in Iraq regularly conducts educational and awareness courses for children and women of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.
