Suspected ISIS members arrested in raids across North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — With the support of U.S.-led International Coalition aircraft, the counter-terrorism units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out an operation in the western countryside of Kobane in the Euphrates Region of North and East Syria, arresting members of the Islamic State (ISIS).
The SDF special units also carried out a security operation in the city of Raqqa targeting ISIS cells who carried out assassinations, made booby traps, and spread ISIS ideology. The operation resulted in arrests of five suspected ISIS members.
Meanwhile, the SDF special units arrested two suspected ISIS members in the Ib al-Tina area in the countryside of Tel Tamr.
The SDF also conducted raids in the countryside of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) that saw the arrests of several suspected ISIS members involved in supplying weapons and transporting them to ISIS cells operating in the area.
