Two new Iranian officials on the U.S. sanctions list
WASHINGTON, D. C. — The U.S. government continues to impose sanctions on Iranian individuals and entities associated with the Iranian government and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
On Tuesday, the U.S. State Department included two new Iranian officials on its blacklist for their involvement in human rights violations.
In press statements, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared that they would continue to discuss ways to hold accountable those responsible for violating human rights in Iran.
Meanwhile, the regional spokesman for the U.S. State Department, Christian James, indicated that Iran is undermining the stability of the region.
“We are cooperating with the international community to counter the Iranian influence,” James added.
