ZALIN, Syria — A U.S. delegation headed by Deputy Special Envoy to Syria David Brownstein arrived in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria on Wednesday.
Brownstein met with Co-Chair of Democratic Autonomous Administration’s (DAA) Foreign Relations Commission Abdul Karim Omar to discuss the overall political and economic situation in North and East Syria and throughout the country.
They also discussed the many crises facing the country and ways towards of political solution.
The importance of continued cooperation between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the U.S.-led International Coalition in combating the Islamic State was stressed, as was the key role played by the International Coalition in supporting the political, economic, security, and humanitarian progress made in North and East Syria.
