SYRIA: Delegation of representatives from multiple Syriac–Assyrian parties visits Khabur villages to evaluate situation

TEL TAMR, Syria — A joint delegation comprising representatives of the Syriac Union Party (SUP), Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), and Assyrian Democratic Party (ADP) toured the Syriac–Assyrian villages of Khabur River Valley to learn about the region’s problems and the ongoing violations against the indigenous people of the area.

The delegation visited the villages of Tel Nasri, Tel Hafian, Tel Massas, and Tel Magas.

The visits are part of the strategic rounds of increased cooperation between Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) political parties and strengthen their strategic relations.

The delegation has made prior visits to the villages of Khabur to learn about the encroachments carried out by displaced people from other parts of Syria living in the houses and on the property of Syriacs–Assyrians who fled their homes in the face of the Turkish invasion of the region in October 2019.

The Syriac–Assyrian parties of North and East Syria are working to raise the issue with the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in order to find a solution to this problem and to stop these violations and infringements.
