NORTH AND EAST SYRIA: Head of Syrian Reform Movement visits Syriac Union Party in Zalin

ZALIN (QAMISHLI, Syria – As part of a tour through the regions of North and East Syria, the head of the Syrian Reform movement Shukri Sheikhani visited the Syriac Union Party at its headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli) and met with SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsoum and SUP executive committee member Gabriel Shamoun.

The two sides discussed the overall political situation and recent developments taking place in the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria and the role of the Syrian Democratic Council in the DAA’s political process. Both parties are part of the SDC, the Syriac Union Party as co-founder. The Syrian Reform Movement joined the DAA‘s legislative body Syrian Democratic Council in March 2019.
