Syriac Military Council spokesperson on anniversary of liberation of Baghuz: MFS has sacrificed for the rights of the Syriac people and all Syrians

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On the 2nd anniversary of the liberation of the finally territorial holding of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Baghuz in North and East Syria, spokesperson of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Aram Hanna told SyriacPress that the success over ISIS was an important milestone in the fight for freedom and was made possible by the men and women of North and East Syria, including those in the MFS, who joined together.

Hanna also highlighted the importance of the assistance provided to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) by the U.S.-led International Coalition, as well as the detrimental effect the Turkish invasions of the region have had. Turkey has effectively resurrected ISIS in the areas under its occupation, especially in Cafrin (Afrin), Tel Abyad, and Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn), said Hanna.

Hanna also stressed that the MFS was the first group to defend the sanctities and dignity of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.

“Since the establishment of the MFS, we have been engaged in the war against terrorism, despite our early lack of military experience and capabilities,” he said. “The MFS worked to develop themselves and the various military specializations within their ranks through intensive training and their continued participation in the military campaigns to liberate North and East Syria, not just Syriac areas.”

“They sacrificed their lives for the rights of the Syriac people and all Syrians.”

Hanna congratulated the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and the MFS on this occasion, promising to continue the approach of eliminating terrorism and defending the homeland against all threats.

He also wished mercy and immortality for the souls of the righteous martyrs and a speedy recovery to the wounded.
