Syrian Democratic Forces repel Turkish-proxy attack on Ayn Issa countryside, report seven SDF fighters killed, unknown number of attackers killed

AYN ISSA and TEL TAMR, Syria — As a result of attacks by Turkish forces and their Syrian National Army (SNA) proxies on Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions in the village of Debs in the Ayn Issa countryside, fighters from both sides were left dead, some bodies unrecoverable in no-mans-land.

The SDF Media Center issued a statement about the attack, stating that, “In the early hours of Tuesday, March 23rd, the Turkish occupation army launched an attack on the village of Debs in the Ayn Issa countryside and violent clashes erupted during which the SDF repelled the attack.”

Following the failed attack, Turkish forces targeted the area with heavy weapons and drones, killing seven members of the SDF, said the statement.

It was unclear how many of the attacking force were killed but corpses could be seen still on the outskirts of the village.

On the frontline farther east, outside Tel Tamr in the village of Arbaeen, the Tel Tamr Military Council targeted a vehicle belonging to the Turkish occupation, injuring four members of the SNA.
