Syriac Chaldean Patriarch Mar Louis Sako sends New Year’s blessings, “opportunity for the Chaldeans-Assyrians-Syriacs to unite ranks in a unified political leadership”

BAGHDAD – On the occasion of April 1, the Babylonian-Chaldean-Assyrian New Year (7321), Syriac Chaldean Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael Sako issued a statement in which he congratulated the daughters and sons of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people in Iraq and abroad on this special day. He extended his blessings, wishing them safety in the difficult times of the Corona pandemic and eternal goodness, happiness, and prosperity; “I also congratulate all Iraqis on this holiday, which is one of the oldest holidays in Mesopotamia.”

Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael Sako seized the opportunity to express his wish for the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people to come together in 1 political body in Iraq; “I hope that this feast, which coincides with the glorious Feast of the Resurrection (April 4), will be an opportunity for the Chaldeans, Assyrians, and Syriacs to unite their ranks in creating a unified political leadership that defends their rights in the land of their ancestors.”
