WASHINGTON, D.C. — A delegation from the Syriac Military Council (MFS) and the Syriac Union Party (SUP) met with officials of the Syrian Platform at the U.S. State Department to discuss the current situation in Syria and brief U.S. officials on the work of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in North and East Syria.
State Department officials emphasized the U.S. will continue to work with its partners in the region to improve security and living conditions. They also stressed that they and their allies on the ground will keep up the pressure on the Islamic State (ISIS) elements still active in the region.
During a meeting with Pentagon officials, the security situation was discussed, as was the important role played by the MFS in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Ways of solidifying gains made in the region were discussed.
