DAA General Council Co-Chair Siham Qiryo: Passage of Investment Budget Law a big step toward institutionalizing Administration of North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Siham Qiryo, Co-Chair of the General Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria told SuroyoTV that on 27 April the General Council met to pass the Investment Budget Law.
Qiryo pointed out that this law included the budget of the General Council, the Council of Justice, the Executive Council, and all seven Authorities, noting that the passage of such a law is a good step for the DAA and shows that the DAA is operating institutionally. According to Qiryo, the total budget is 2.472 billion Syrian Pounds, equivalent to $ 40 million U.S. Dollars.
According to a source in the DAA, 80 billion Syrian Pounds have been allocated to secure 7,000 administrative jobs this year.
According to the same source, 370 billion Syrian Pounds have been earmarked specifically to subsidize the cost of bread this year.
According to the Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the DAA, the Administration employs some 120,000 people, including in the Internal Security Forces (ISF).
