Administration of North and East Syria extends coronavirus curfew by 10 days

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Co-Chairship of the Executive Council of North and East Syria issued Decree No. 117, which extended the coronavirus curfew for an additional ten days.

The decree reads as follows:

“In order to help curb the danger posed by the coronavirus pandemic and based on the requirements of the public interest, the Co-Chairship of the Executive Council of North and East Syria decides the following:

The coronavirus curfew imposed in all areas of the Autonomous Administration is extended for an additional ten days, starting from Friday morning, 7 May, through Sunday, 16 May. The curfew will last from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.

All border crossings will be closed, except for humanitarian and health cases, students, and commercial movement. All gatherings are strictly prohibited throughout the curfew.

All schools, universities, institutes, and kindergartens will be closed. In addition, all cafeterias and popular markets will be closed. Restaurants will be limited to the delivery.

All citizens must adhere to the rules of health prevention, social distancing and wearing masks.
