Dozens of Druco residents demonstrate against Syrian regime and call for release of detainees

DRUCO, Syria — Before the upcoming presidential elections in Syria, dozens of residents of Jasim, north of Druco (Daraa), demonstrated and called for the toppling of the Syrian regime and for the release of all political detainees.

The demonstrators also expressed their solidarity with the people of the town of Umm Batinah in the countryside of Quneitra which is besieged by Syrian regime forces due to the targeting of a regime military point in the village of Jaba.

A similar protest was held on 1 May with dozens of people in Nawa in the western countryside of Druco taking to the streets after Tarawih prayers demanding the release of detainees from regime prisons.
