ZALIN, Syria — During the night patrols of the Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces) in the city of Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria on Tuesday evening, a fire was observed in a shop on Wakalat street in the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) Wusta neighborhood.
The Sutoro cordoned off the area around the scene of the fire and contacted the city’s fire teams.
Once the fire was put out, it was determined that the source of the fire was a short circuit. No one was injured, according to a Sutoro official.
The Sutoro is a part of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) of North and East Syria. It operates checkpoints and daily patrols in the cities and towns where it is present, additionally providing security for events and religious holidays.
