Beth Nahrin National Council calls on international community to put an end to Turkish criminality
BETH NAHRIN — Due to the ongoing Turkish attacks in the vicinity of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian villages in Nohadra (Duhok) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), the Beth Nahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d-Bethnahrin, MUB), issued the following statement:
“We, the Beth Nahrin National Council (MUB), call on the United Nations and the international community to put an end to the Turkey’s criminality and military interventions in the countries of the region and stop its repeated attacks on northern Iraq. These attacks, conducted under the pretext of fighting terrorism, affect the villages of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people daily.
The Turkish criminal attacks, during which all kinds of heavy weapons are used, including aircraft, missiles, and other weapons procured from Turkey’s NATO allies, has resulted in the displacement and killing of what remains of our people who have been subjected to the most heinous types of ethnic genocide by the Turkish government, alongside other peoples, since 1915.
The MUB calls on regional parties, especially neighboring countries, to resolve their disputes within their geographical boundaries, strengthen the culture of dialogue and recognize pluralism. The politics of wars, denial, oppression, murder, displacement, and massacre have proven their failure in resolving disputes and conflicts.
These policies increase hatred, backwardness, and extremism between peoples of the region.
We will continue to stand alongside oppressed peoples and help defend their rights, especially the rights of our Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people who pay more than others the cost of futile wars of exclusion, killing, massacres, displacement, and demographic change in their historical lands.”
