Main street in Baghdede in Nineveh Plains illuminated thanks to USAID’s Iraq Community Resilience Initiative
BAGHDEDE, Iraq — With the support of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Iraq Community Resilience Initiative (ICRI) and in partnership with the office of Mayor of Al-Hamdaniya District Issam Behnam Matti, the main street in Baghdede in Nineveh Plains, which extends from the district center to the international street linking to the cities of Erbil and Mosul, has been transformed from a dark street prone to traffic accidents to an illuminated and safer one.
The illumination project involved the installation of 198 streetlights, in addition to several traffic lights.
The center and outside lines were also freshly painted and traffic signs place at appropriate places along the street.
