Syriac Union Party delegation visits Kurdish National Council headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — A delegation from the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria, headed by SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsoum and members of SUP’s Executive Body Afram Ishaq and Robil Bahho, visited the Kurdish National Council in Syria (Encûmena Niştimanî ya Kurdî li Sûriyê‎, ENKS) at its headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli) on Wednesday.

The visiting delegation was received by members of the ENKS governing body, Mohamed Ismail, Nemat Daoud, Suleiman Oso, and Faisal Yousuf.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the general political situation in Syria and the obstacles to reaching a political solution. They agreed on the importance of international decisions related to the Syrian crisis and the achievement of a comprehensive political solution that guarantees the demands and goals of all the peoples of Syria.

The Kurdish–Kurdish dialogue and the existing difficulties it has faced.

The SUP delegation expressed its opinion of the importance of this dialogue for all the peoples of North and East Syria and to a general political solution in Syria.

At the end of the meeting, both the ENKS and SUP emphasized the importance of continuing these joint meetings to enhance party relations and exchange ideas and opinions.
