Syriac Women’s Union organizes lecture about women’s rights in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — As part of its regular and ongoing lectures in various cities in North and East Syria, the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) held a lecture in Zalin (Qamishli) on Wednesday about the import role of women in society and family life.

The lecture was delivered by SWU official Ilham Matli during which she spoke about the organization and its work strengthening women role in social, economic, and political life.

All members of the SWU in Zalin were invited to attend the lecture, which saw a wide turnout among the city’s Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) women. The lecture was followed by lively discussions about women’s rights in North and East Syria and wider social and political issues.
