Bethnahrin National Council on 106th anniversary of Sayfo Genocide: “Our struggle will continue all over the world until the SAYFO Genocide is fully recognized by the Republic of Turkey.”
On the eve of the 106th anniversary of Sayfo Genocide of 1915, the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawthbo Umthonoyo d-Beth Nahrin, MUB) issued a statement calling for a unified Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) struggle to gain international recognition of the Sayfo Genocide of 1915.
The Sayfo Genocide was committed by the Ottoman Empire and allied Kurdish, Arab, and Circassian forces in the early 20th century against the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and occurred parallel to the genocides of Armenians and Greeks. Hundreds of thousands of the estimated 700,000 Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans) were massacred and hundreds of thousands of others were forcefully displaced or deported south.
