Bethnahrain Patriotic Union President Yusuf Matti: our Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people must unite their voice in upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections
BAGHDAD – With the Iraqi parliamentary elections scheduled for October 10th, the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people are awaiting the party programs and election campaigns of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian candidates and parties. President of the Bethnahrain Patriotic Union (HBA) Yusuf Yaqoub Matti, stated in an interview on Syriac satellite channel Suroyo TV that his party will enter the elections with former Syriac Member of Iraqi Parliament Joseph Sliwa.
Joseph Sliwa is a former deputy in Iraqi parliament for four years.
“We, as the Bethnahrain Patriotic Union, support the candidate who can best represent our people in the upcoming elections. We see Joseph Sliwa and his ideas and vision as the best person to serve our people.”
“We have all the confidence in our candidate Joseph Sliwa. He carries ideas very close to our party’s program. He is close to us but also to all other parties. Joseph carries an independent program that serves all our people in Iraq and all Iraqis,” Yusuf Jacoub Matti added.

Yusuf Matti pointed out that there is much work to be done in the Iraqi parliament. Many issues that directly concern and affect our people and the country of Iraq need to be reversed and reformed. The only place to effectively do this is in Iraqi parliament.
“Our Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people must unite their views, organize and close their ranks in this difficult and existential period in Iraq.”
The Chaldeans-Syriacs-Assyrians will have to speak with one voice, away from ideological dependencies that do not directly and immediately serve the interests of our, he said.
