Education Authority of Gozarto Region in North and East Syria says efforts ongoing to achieve international recognition of educational curricula

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In a statement, Co-Chair of the Education Authority of the Gozarto (Jazira) Region Muhammad Saleh Abdo, announced the Authorities intention to meet with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) about the educational system in the Regions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria.

In his statement, Abdo affirmed the authority’s continuous efforts for international recognition of the DAA curricula.

He also indicated that, in the past period, UNICEF representatives made visits to the Councils of the Education Authority to monitor education in North and East Syria.

The DAA has opened several universities and institutes under the supervision of specialized educational cadres, in addition to conducting the secondary school (baccalaureate) examination in a number of centers, in recent years.
