Syriac Progressive Youth Union in North and East Syria participates in 4th Youth Dialogue Seminar

DAYRIK, Syria — Within the series of dialogues organized by the Syrian Democratic Youth Council in North and East Syria, the Syriac Progressive Youth Union (SPYU), in addition to a delegation from the youth of the Syriac Union Party (SUP), participated in the 4th Youth Dialogue Seminar in Gozarto (Jazira) Region. The dialogue was held on Wednesday in the city of Dayrik (al-Malikiyah) and was entitled ‘Towards a Syrian Youth Dialogue Forum’.

The dialogues are intended to facilitate discussion between youth of all the region’s components, political parties, and movements about several issues related to the youth in particular and the region in general.

According to SPYU member Mariana Issa, this dialogue was about the role of youth in confronting the Syrian regime’s attempts to sow discord in North and East Syria, in addition to ways to solve problems facing the youth of the region.

The seminar included a speech by Co-Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Amina Omar.

The SPYU discussed how to confront the attempts of the Damascus and Ankara to influence Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) youth in Syria.
