RAQQA: Specialized Center for Cancer Patients opens in Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria — To alleviate the physical burdens of cancer patients who must travel to Daramsuq (Damascus) for treatment, the city of Raqqa has opened the Specialized Center for Cancer Patients.

The center is the first of its kind in the city, working in coordination with the Health Committee of the Civil Council in Raqqa, and currently offers early detection services and chemotherapy treatments.

The center belongs to a local organization in Raqqa and was established by volunteer doctors and nurses from the city. There are approximately 825 cancer patients in Raqqa.
